The
Docent Guild, formed in 1980, has over 60 members.
Docents must participate in an eight-week training
course before qualifying to conduct botanical
tours.
The
Gardens provide numerous educational and cultural
activities including classes and lectures covering
diverse subjects, from practical gardening to
evening programs of historical and botanical
talks by noted authors. A Weekend Gardener series
of monthly Saturday morning lectures and walks
supply the public with information on a variety
of horticultural subjects. For more information

Adult
Tours: The Garden offers Docent Guided Tours
to organizations such as garden and book clubs,
senior-citizen groups, historical societies,
professional organizations and those with special
needs.
Children's
Tours: Docent Guided Tours are available
for kindergarten to high school students. Concepts
introduced include man's use of plants for survival,
a plants needs for survival and the interesting
ways in which plants adapt to their surroundings.
Tours are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m-
3:00 p.m.
